10 FREE trees from the National Arbor Day Foundation

It's not too often you can get a great deal and help mother nature at the same time. The National Arbor Day Foundation is giving away 10 free trees per household, including free shipping, when you become a member. Admittedly membership is not free, it's $10, but that's a small price to pay for such a worthy cause.

Simply click here to get started. The enrollement process is a breeze. When you're done, you can choose from 10 flowering trees, 10 oak trees or, in my zip code, 10 Colorado Blue Spruce. Your zip code will most likely offer you some very nice regional trees that will thrive in your area.

They can be shipped to your home address or another address, and are all around 6-12 inches tall. Your membership comes with a tree planting/care book and your membership card gives you additional savings of up to 56% off on over 100 varieties of trees.

This is one of those deals that makes you feel great. Give them away as gifts or plant your own mini-forest. Either way, you're helping the planet and making your own piece of the world look much more beautiful. Amen to that.

Another great place to go, if you or people you know do not have a place to grow a mini-forest (that would be so rad), so could not use the 10 free trees, is www.americanforests.org/planttrees/

"Every dollar you give plants a tree in the right place for the right reason. We'll plant your trees where they are most needed and send a beautiful certificate as a gift or remembrance."

I joined back in the 1990's, when I was a teenager and wanted to save the world, and got my free trees.
My Dad planted the trees in his huge yard. It's fun to see them now, being huge!
I did accidentally mow 2 of them over, because they looked like plain sticks in the ground! :(

If you poke around their site a bit, they won't ship to AK, AZ, CA, HI, or any US territory (check this page).
