2 Free Tickets to DiCaprio's New Eco-documentary: The 11th Hour

This movie's promoter is offering one lucky Wise Bread reader two free tickets to an advanced screening. Editor's note: contest is closed, Zot is our winner!

The 11th Hour is a documentary that unflinchingly examines our devastating impact on the ecosystem. Narrated and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film features commentary from experts such as Stephen Hawking, Mikhail Gorbachev, Wangari Maathai, Ray Anderson, Betsy Taylor, Thom Harmann, and Bill McKibben. The film

takes us through a quick remedial history of humankind, from the birth of life through our evolutionary history to the current moment, when our impact on the ecosystem is threatening our own survival. While Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros plays mournful melodies, The 11th Hour parades shots of natural beauty and horrible abuses before us. Jürgen Fauth for About.com .

Ecorazzi describes the movie as

heavy, but promising. Walk in with an open mind (and maybe a notebook, as Thomas notes in his review) and be prepared to feel helpless and sometimes downright terrified before you feel enabled and inspired.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I do know that Sigur Ros and planet earth make an awesome combo. By the way, I took a shot and requested an interview with Leo and Betsy Taylor, so if you guys have any ideas for questions I can ask please feel free to leave a suggestion.

Before you go see DiCaprio's movie, I invite you to see the "Great Global Warming Swindle" also for FREE.

Bring your own popcorn:

Just please watch it before you buy into the latest form of terror.

Reminder: We ARE part of the ecosystem.

I wish the world would just collapse in the eco-explosion we always seem to be on the verge of so I don't have to hear the whining anymore.

Why are we humans so self absorbed to think that we are causing global warming? What ever happened to the GIANT BALL OF FIRE in the sky? Look up. It is 93 MILLION miles away and yet it can still burn skin in 30 minutes and fry an egg. It produces the northern lights and allows for life to exist on this planet. CO2 is nothing compared to that. Especially when it comes to the tiny amount that humans produce compared to other things on this planet.

Maybe DiCaprio and Al Gore should just hold their breath. Then their "carbon footprint" would be zero.

By the way the "carbon credits" Al Gore buys are sold by a company that he partially owns. He is paying himself to look green.

Because Leonardo DiCaprio is SUCH an authority on the issue. (Although he IS effective at parroting back the lies he's been fed.)

Hi Zot!

Thanks for being the first to reply. The tickets are yours if you respond to my email before 11:00 pm tonight (8/15), PST. If I don't hear from you, I'll go down the list and pick someone else.

Thank you everyone for your enthusiastic support. I will check with the promoter and see if he can spare any more tickets. =)

Dane, I don't think we have any Canadian showings at the moment. But I'll definitely ask for you and find out.

STE, JT, and CP, thanks for your comments. Now I really want to watch this movie so I can find out if it is as evil as you make it out to be. Maybe you should to, just to be safe.
