Ask the Readers: Do You Gamble?

Editor's Note: Congratulations to Kathryn, Ally, and Alice Mecoy for winning this week's contest!

Chances are you've gone to a casino and played the slots or poker. Or maybe you've purchased a lottery ticket when the jackpot has been worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Most people have gambled at least once or twice in their lives. Some people only gamble when they head to Vegas or go on vacation to a destination with a casino. Others play the lottery on a daily basis.

Do You Gamble? If yes, what is your favorite way to gamble? Playing the lottery? Heading to the casinos to play poker? If you don't gamble, what motivates you to keep your money in your pocket?

Tell us whether or not you gamble and we'll enter you in a drawing to win a $20 Amazon Gift Card!

I never gamble...it is a waste of money. The odds are always stacked for the "house" will always win, which means if you win a little, you will lose much more in the long run.

I actually do gamble. I play blackjack and carefully track my ups, downs, expenses, etc in relation to my gambling. Hubby was off work with no paycheck for 4 months, and I was desperate to make money. I play until I lose three hands in a row, then I sit out a few and try again, if I still am losing, I leave. Have to be very aware of where I am at all time with my money. So far I am up overall, though I did lose 50 last week.

I used to play poker online but it just seems fixed to me. I did win $1800 one month playing the $.25/$.50 tables. It took me two years just to build up a $1000 bank roll from $100, then all of a sudden I went on a roll and won $1800. I cashed out and then gave back about $500 the most I have ever lost in a month the very next month. I just don't trust it. People use bots online, the gaming site could be cheating(there are a few that have gotten caught). I also used to bet online for sports gambling. I like to gamble on things I can use my mind or strategy with, so I never play lottery or the slot machines. Do like a little roulette at the casino though. I like to try to find patterns and bet accordingly even though statistics have proved against my theory

I have never gambled and really have no desire to. I am conservative with my money and if I am going to spend it, it would never be in that way!
