I've been banking online for at least 10 yrs in Canada and can't imagine life without it or the online tools like that help me budget and track my spending. If I had to depend on paper, I'd be up a creek as I'm constantly "misplacing" things. On a related note, I've just started using lemon (which I likely heard about on this site) to process and store my receipts online and I use curdbee, which I definitely learned about on WiseBread, to do my invoicing. Come to think of it, that's where I learned about Mint, which I started using to replace Microsoft Money. Now that my bank has introduced an Android app, I'm going mobile too.

A: Yes. What I like the most is to be able to see how much is on my charge card, otherwise I'd never track it.

I use USAA for all of my banking... fantastic personal service and very easy interface.

I love online banking -- it saves time, allows me to plan when payments come out, and even saves me money. My confirmation number is over 140 at this point...that means that I've saved over $60 just in postage stamps! :)

For sure - it's way more convenient and simpler to take care of bills, watch my balances, budget, etc.

I've been doing a lot of research and reviews and will be opening up an online bank account, or 2, just as soon as I have enough money to put in there, lol...

Oh no, I didn't realize quite how much of a dinosaur I am! I just turned 50, and I don't bank online yet! I do have direct deposit, and automatic payment for three monthly bills that are the same amount each month. I still use snail mail for my two credit cards and utility bills.

I use online banking pretty much exclusively, since my bank is an online bank. I absolutely must be on top of my finances at all times since I am on such a strict budget, and online banking helps me to manage my finances and keep an eye on things all at the same time.

Oh yes - love it!

Yes, I've used online banking for years. Love it! It's so nice to be able to keep an eye on your money any day, any time. It beats having to call in to check your balance!

Yes

Yeah, I do a lot online.

Yes. Online Banking makes it possible for me to pay my bills on time. Paper bills have a tendency to get used as bookmarks and disappear into the abyss.

I always use online banking. I was scared of bill pay for a while, but got tired of my checks getting lost in the mail. So far its worked perfectly!

Michelle

Yup! In fact, two of my savings accounts are online savings accounts.

Of course, online banking can be done anywhere with a smartphone these days

absolutely!

For savings only. I use a community bank so I see no real advantage to online checking.

We use online banking, b/c it is easier to check our balance at any time.

I definitely use online banking! I would think that most people do!

We've been using online banking for many years. While the bill goes to my online banking, I always make sure that I approve each transaction, just in case there is a billing error. Make sure to check those statements, don't just blindly pay. We use a credit union, and I download our information about once a month to Quicken. It's so much easier to keep track of spending (and saving!) this way.

Kind of I use online credit unioning, which is the same thing.

I use it a few times a week to check my balance, transfer money, and pay my credit card bills. It's great.

Guest's picture
Bryan

Yes. I don't think I've wrote a check in 5 years. I have all my bills drafted right out of my checking account so they're never late and just pay any credit card bills in full each month on-line.

I use online banking. It's quick and easy and a lot more convenient than dealing with the bank in person.

Who doesn't love online banking? It's so easy to see what's going on in your account with very little effort

I like you on facebook

Yep, I've used ING Direct for the past 4 years and love it!

Guest's picture

Absolutely! The time savings, and the savings on stamps, are just amazing. I'm now co-executor of my father's estate and setup the Estate account for online banking. I couldn't imagine managing the account any other way.

Yes for some bills.

We've been using online banking for some time now, and it's very efficient. It's easy to shift money from one account to another, and using the online bill pay feature is excellent. Now if I could just figure out how to get my monitor to spit out greenbacks like an ATM.

I am so addicted to Mint.com that their recent problems with Bank of America have caused me to abandon a 20-year relationship with BofA. It's long overdue, really, but nothing finally got me to go to the effort of moving my direct deposit until they quit working with Mint.

Yes, it has made things so much easier.

well,i dont expect to win anything, coz I am not from US, but I am Europe.
I use online banking since 2003, and have had an electronic account since I was twelve. Never had a checkbook, and never seen more than 3 checks in my life, and I am 33. Even in my first students jobs, all my salary since then, had been paid electronically.
But I guess, I remember I have read once, that there are vast differences in the banking methods between US and EU, thats probably why most money banking related tips from US blogs don't really help me at all :)

I use online banking because it's easy to access my accounts anywhere anytime, and there isn't any paper to store and take up space in a file cabinet. As long as I update my passwords every so often it feels secure.
