The rep I spoke to was rude

Submitted by Barbara on December 2, 2007 - 03:52.

I dropped my business card in one of these bowls, not realizing it was for Ameriprise (they made the sign a little small on that bowl). Then, when the rep called me to tell me I had won, I asked for a little bit of time to see if I could get 10 friends together and then call her back to set the date.

I was asking for time because I'm not going to bring friends in without telling them that there's a sales pitch associated first. Everyone I was planning on inviting works independently like I do, and I didn't want them feeling tricked into a free lunch.

The rep I spoke to got really pushy about setting a date, and when i told her I wouldn't set one without checking with my friends first, she hung up on me!

I called back and spoke to a manager, telling him I would never consider their services, etc. Somehow I scored a second free lunch?
