Stimulus Rebate Check for Social Security Survivor Benefits

I do recieve Social Security Death Benefits for my son. However, in Box 2. of the Form SSA 1099, it lists his Social Security number. My finace filed him as a qualifying dependent on his 2007 Tax Return. I am unemployed and he takes care of us. Do I file a 2007 Tax Return using this SSA 1099 as single with no dependents to get a $300 Tax Rebate for myself?
