Be Careful...

It's probably OK to wash your keyboard down as suggesed, as long as it's not a laptop keyboard. Then you might have issues.

Seriously, for either type keyboard, I use lots of compressed air and wipe them down with Windex or something similar. I've done that for years and never had problems.
