Sometimes. Check out Problogger's job board to find blogging jobs. Or you could always start your own blog and display advertising like a lot of the bloggers in this forum. There are advantages to both ways. With your own blog, you have total control and keep all the profits but are responsible for all the marketing too. When writing for a blog network, you get paid upfront (sometimes) to write without having to worry about the tech or marketing. | |

I'm familiar with PayPerPost. What are some of the other pay for posting sites that you have had a good experience with? Do they have similar requirements for blogs that PayPerPost has (e.g., 90 days old, 30+ posts, no more than 30 days between any posts)? Any information you can provide would be much appreciated!

Reputation: | Unfortunately, yes. It is one of the reasons I started my blog. I had been considering starting one for fun for several months, but then with the current economic state, sales in our pet clothing business has declined, so we needed another source of income. Since lots of people are now interested in frugality, which we have been practicing for several years, we thought we'd start a blog about it (an idea I got here, so thanks WiseBread). Of course, we hope to help people, too, with our tips and ideas.

| Member | I absolutely started blogging to make money. I enjoy writing, and I feel that I have things to say that are interesting to people, but I really enjoy the checks coming in. I certainly don't hate blogging. Would I do it for free? Probably not.

Reputation: | My blog started as a personal journal. I never thought anyone besides close friends would read it, and I certainly never thought I'd make any money. I had no idea you could make money blogging. As my site has grown, I'll admit that the money is nice. It's helping me achieve my financial goals. But I'd probably keep blogging, even if I weren't making any money. I enjoy writing and all of the cyber friends I've made over the last year. |

Reputation: | Lynnae, Can you share some of the ways you've made money blogging? What revenue-generating methods you use (e.g., Google Adsense, affiliate links, pay for posting, etc.), and what your average traffic is. I'm relatively new to this, and am looking for ideas on how to monetize my blog.

Reputation: | Xin Lu...Great article. I have been curious about how people make money. I do not have blog site, but do have a website. I offer free genealogy web-hosting in hopes that my users will click on the google ads or the commission junction ads or even buy a book from amazon. In a years time the site has made about $100 in donations and ad clicks. |
