Reputation: | Yuck! How low is that? Meanwhile, regular domain thieves have been doing that for years. They just monitor the searches through registrars, and then snap up the domains if you don't register them, but it can usually take days instead of seconds.

Reputation: | I've registered 2 domain names with GoDaddy and didn't have any problems. The first one I registered with them, I did the search one day and went back to register it one or two days later and it was still available. Of course it wasn't a super hot or cool domain name - it was between mozartini.net or mozartinishop.com and I don't imagine anyone else would have been clamoring to get it before us.

| Senior Member | I've never heard any complaints about godaddy doing this, but I normally find most of the ideas I have are already taken anyway |

| Senior Member | Namecheap has done this before to me. That's why when I think of a domain name and it's available I normally move on it within an hour. $9.29 each, I spend that at the bar in a few minutes. (Frugalist don't yell at me!) I know I should BYOL (Bring my own liquor). :-)
