Exclamation Finally Got PR

I was checking PayperPost as I've been having issues accessing it with firefox and had contacted support about it. As the available opps page loaded it was chock full, which is odd as I normally find nothing. So I clicked on one and was reading through it when I realize it says it must have a PR of 1. So I freak out and check my blog stats. I now have a PR of 2! Finally. I've had PR 0 since I started my blog sometime in September.

My journal has a page rank of 3. However, I don't use it for generating ad income so that statistic is not so important.

I've been blogging since the start of February, and I still have no page rank either. I have been noticing that I am getting way more hits from google than before, so I think I might be out of the "sandbox".

Congratulations! It means a number of sites are linking to you, which is always a good thing!

yeah I don't think PR matters in the search rankings. It only matters when you sell text links. Many sites had PR drops in the last PR update but they are still doing fine and traffic actually increased. I have a PR 3 on some of my pages now but it doesn't matter much.

PR is one of the webpage strength/importance measurements and higher PR usually means higher rankings...

I was so surprised to find that my blog had a PR of 4 last month after only a couple of months. My webstore that I've had for 1 1/2 years only has a PR of 3. I think it has to do with the All-in-One SEO pack plugin I have installed on my Wordpress to make it easier to add meta tags and descriptions.

lol, since them it dropped back to PR0, my personal blog which I hadn't listed on any directories and only have as a signature link on a couple forums jumped to a PR2 though. Then PayperPost denied it based on no indexing by Google...still working on that one through a help ticket.

I came across this article last night which has gotten me all worried. Apparently, Google does this to a lot of websites. They'll give you a nice PR and then drop it after a while. This post by Pro Blogger might be helpful. It's already helped me by letting me know what I should do (or not do) if it ever happens to my blog.
What should you do if your Google Ranking Falls and you lose all your traffic?
