I though one of the main things with any website, whether blog or other was the content, heavy content rich pahes drive traffic and then sell goods, ideas, services, affiliations etc of the back of that?
Or is that rather naive?

It is nice that someone really takes time to encourage others and help out people with regard to how they would be able to gain more visitors to their blogs.

Guest blogging on another site can create site traffic too.

I've found networking and commenting to be a huge factor in driving visitors to my blog. Also, Twitter has been a huge help.

I'm new to blogging and am finding that social networking is driving a little traffic to my site, www.littlehouseinthevalley.com. I'm guessing that once my blog is a little older, and I keep consistently posting, I will have more traffic. Can I safely assume this?

Thanks mgomes - great information especially for newbies. It took me a while to figure out that most of my traffic was coming from article writing. But then when I found out about the social networks, my business simply took off. I also do a lot of 'offsite' social networking which in turn gets even more and more people to my site and products.

2. Comment on other people blogs.

3. Join blog groups, e.g. mybloglog, networked blogs.

Well...what I think is that, if you want to increase traffic on your blog.than you must have graphical options rather than stressing everything on the content..I agree content is imp but from viewers view what they see creates more impact....my view

The best way I got almost immediate traffic is when I put up a FREE enter to win contest on my website. Then I post that on my blog, facebook, twitter, even submit free ads, etc. In less than 3 months I built up over 1900 contacts. Not to mention it also helped with sales. Give it a try?
