Use each blog post and publish as an article. Use an article submission software program to submit to multiple article directories with one click. Saves me soooo much time.

Cool Comments and Traffic

I noticed many of you said to comment on other blogs. Do you guys include your website http:// address or do you just comment and home people will click on your name?

I am a newbie to the blog world and am just wondering if putting your address in your comment is considered tacky or rude or OK?

Thanks!

I think it is considered tacky to include your URL in your comment when you are already allowed a link to your blog in your name.

I usually edit out links like that (and sometimes delete the whole comment altogether) when approving comments on my site. If you leave intelligent and relevant comments, people are more likely to click on your name to learn more about you and your blog.

I often include a link to a post of mine that's related to the thing being discussed. I've found, though, that just including a link is pointless. Why would anyone follow it?

Rather, you have to write a substantive comment. It should be so good that it's almost a blog post in its own right--comments significantly on the topic of the base post, states a position that's related to the base post but that draws a distinction, and explains why your analysis is better than the base post's. Then you can add a link at the end with something like, "I cover this in my detail in my post ...."

But the body of the comment is the main thing. Basically, no one is going to follow your link--except someone who reads your comment and says, "Yeah, this guy is exactly right! I wonder what else he's got to say!"

Typically a comment like that brings clicks in the single digits. But, hopefully, some of those people stay to read more.

I agree with the others that say that having good quality content is key. I started out with little to no traffic, but after writing for a year and a half, i now have almost 700 articles in my archives, and a majority of my traffic comes from people finding my site through google searches for specific topics.

Write lots of content, make it topical to what's in the news. Guest post. make substantive and useful comments on other blogs, link to others (so they link you in return), use social media for promotion (like twitter/facebook), and be helpful to other bloggers just starting out!

oh, and don't use adwords.. money hole.

I appreciate all the replies! To answer one question, I have both a blog and a site. The blog is updated daily and the site periodically. They main theme of both is money saving, money making tips, including finding FREE stuff. (i just LOVE free stuff!).
manymoneysavers.com From the site, you can get to the blog. From the blog you can get to the site. Doing a cross promotion thing. The blog is what gets noticed WAY more than the site because it is updated so often, I believe. I have found that the subject title of my blog posts make a difference when someone is doing a google search for a specific topic. Let' say some one is looking for Free Baby Talk magazine. If I have that in my subject line, I find that it is ranked fairly high in google.

Anyone else have that experience?

Love to take you up on a "guest post" on your site, if you think barter would be an appropriate topic for your readers...?

Consider this

Video Blogging

VIdeo Blogging Works

Because it captures the viewers attention

and is easier to take in

the bounce rate is much lower for sites that implement video blogs
