Wink Hey, check out my new blog and tell me what you think!

I'm new to blogging. I started one about two weeks ago, and at first it was a struggle...

But anyway, feedback is greatly appreciated!!

It's hard to read the sidebar because the background is very busy and the text is so small and black.

I also think the white text on your header and in the sidebar (post count) is a little hard to read over the colorful images.

I'd also suggest cutting off longer posts with a "more" break, but that's up to you. I personally prefer the home page of my blog to show a section of each post with the option to read more on the post page, so visitors can sort of get a general idea about several articles at once and not only see one big long one that might not appeal to them.

But that's because our blog has sort of a few different sort of articles - more technical financial/frugality articles and then more home decor/crafty-type articles, recipes, [financial] language lessons, etc. So it's up to you.

If you do use the "more" break, the posts are cut off on feeds and readers will have to come to your site to read the rest if they're interested enough, so there may be pros and cons to it. Of course, if you decided to place ads on your site and get paid for impressions and/or clicks, then having visitors come to the site might generate more ad revenue.

I'd want maybe another paragraph or two in About section.

S, is your internet handle? After each post it just looks like a mis-keyed letter. I suggest making it a little personal with either your first name or something.

The sidebar and the top header... just too many background images.

I would agree about adding to the About section. Also, have you thought of using a disclaimer page regarding attorney client relationship? I don't have a disclaimer yet but have been thinking about one. There is a good article on Problogger about this and other pages to consider having on your blog.

There seems to be some good info there, S, but you need to provide more info on your About page. There's not quite enough meat there to make me equate you with an "expert." Also, there needs to be some means to directly (email) contact you. And you might want to consider actually publicizing your name - at least part of it anyway - and a photo to make it more personable.

I really do like the look of the sidebar, but I'm not clear on why the image of highways and/or traffic is relevant to the topic of your blog. Overall, the blog does have a very clean and professional appearance.
