How do you find new post ideas? - Page 2

Me, I stalk some interesting blogs and if they make a post I have something worth saying about - I say it!

I also keep up to date with current events and the news.

Please keep posting on this topic. I've just (even though I'm pretty sure I'm dreaming) secured a permanent blogging job on personal finance, and though I'm totally qualified and so passionate about the topic, I am just a little daunted by the daily idea thing. I've got a portfolio of topics to get me through the first couple of months.

Thanks for all the great support. Wise Bread is one of the first places I go in the morning.

Will, I promise I will post (and loudly) once I'm up and running. It is an existing website who is adding blogs to their regularly scheduled programming. I'm pretty excited!

I guess I'm lucky in the sense that my blog topic (fashion) is seasonal! When the weather starts to change, it instantly generates a new topic. Plus, clothing styles change every year, so even if I revisit the same topics year after year, there's always a new "take" on that topic in store.

If I'm not sure what to write about, I go to an online store and browse their clothing section - eventually something catches my eye and I create a post around it. Otherwise, I look to reader suggestions, fashion news, etc.

I get ideas everywhere. My kids, my friends, TV, my parents. I draw a lot from my life experiences.

I also write about the news, things I see on other blogs or message boards, the weather...

Ok, maybe not the weather, but you get the picture. I try to always keep a notebook with me, so I can jot down post ideas no matter where I am.

Usually I'll message my husband, my best friend and my best coworker in the morning and say "What should I write about today" often one of the three will come up with an idea I like or one that I will choose to write on later.
Collaboration is a wonderful thing!
