Reputation: | I've had some good success using stumble upon to get new visitors. Definitely there's the possibility that these stumblers will move on. But at the same time, they might get hooked to subscribe to your blog, if you provide enough incentive for them. Trying to game the system doesn't work though. Having solid bookmarkable content is the best way to do it. You will get residual ongoing traffic over time, as long as people really enjoy your stuff.

Reputation: | In all honesty time is better off spent else where. As was already stated, the quality of traffic is going to be lacking. Most people are browsing and are not spenders, of course there are exceptions
