Default Money Help For Christians: A New Blog Looking for Good Advice

Thanks for taking the time to take a look - Money Help For Christians: www.moneyhelpforchristians.com.

I'm just starting a new blog and wanted to be sure I'm on the right track. I blog as a hobby. I have other goals and plans that fit with blogging. My goal is to provide quality material that serves people. I want to keep the possibility of turning this hobby into an income-generating source open.

Things I'm doing (and the advice I need):
  1. Writing a lot of original material - I thought that would really introduce me to my readers, but it takes a lot of time. What do you think, save time and put up secondary source materials with my brief comments.
  2. Completely ignoring the 'monetizing' element. I figured I could go back later and monetize the site if (1) the traffic was steady (2) I decided to go that route. What do you think? Will it be hard to go back and add the links and ads, will the readers feel betrayed thinking this is a bait and switch technique?
  3. Enjoying myself. I'm learning a ton of things. I'm quite technically illiterate. Has been frustrating at times, but I figure if I stop enjoying it my content will suffer. What do you think? Write because you have to or want to? Will I get to a point that this feels more like work and less like play?
Appreciate your time and feedback
