I really need to figure out these social boomarking sites. Ive been stumbled upon more than a few times for the Cheap Alternatives series which has brought major traffic. Adding to the list of blog things to do!

MasterYourCard - the site looks great! Congrats on the reader numbers. I have been working on mine and I know it is no easy task. You have some great content though so that probably explains it. I look forward to the next post!

Thanks STB - I'm still finding my footing and it's pretty much all trial and error at this stage

My blog and website is 5 months old and should receive 5,000 visitors this month. It has a google page rank 3. I post about 2-4 times per week, I know I should post more, but I prefer quality over quantity.

What is very interesting is that Wisebread.com only has a google page rank 3. What's up? Why does my site, newer and a lot less traffic, after only a few months have an equivalent page rank?

If your blog is newsworthy, meaning the posts are informational, then check out blogburst. One of my posts ended up in the Wall Street Journal.

Here is my blog for your perusal - Retirement Blogs

Maintaining a blog is a lot of work, and takes a comittment, the rewards are not immediately realized. Just keep posting and think "Keywords".

Retire blogger - thanks for the blogburst reference. I just sent in my info. I will probably need to focus on more factual vs. personal posts. I think one of each per week might do it.

Keywords...the next frontier...

My understanding is that certain types of monetization (selling TLA, the tiny ads) is penalized by Google, perhaps in an effort to have Adsense dominate. If you do searches using Google, WB articles still end up on top (sometimes anyway, check out "rich idiot") but the official, Google-endorsed page rank doesn't reflect search engine results. Go figure.

I haven't written a blog yet. I'm afraid to write one and I'm afraid maybe I'll just go dumb when I do. I love reading and writing but still I don't have enough courage to write a blog.. But, seeing how happy you people are with your blogs I am rather considering trying it for myself..
