Reputation: | So today was a bit of a milestone for me - my humble blog turned 1 month old and I got my 3000th visitor. I'm pretty pleased with how things are going so far, but I also feel like there are a few things that need some pretty significant improvement. Just wondering if anyone out there had any recommendations or advice on my design and/or writing? Thanks!

Reputation: | Wow, what do you do to get all the visitors to your site? We just turned 1 month old too, but our total number of visitors doesn't come close to what you've had. How are you doing it? Blog carnivals? Blog directories? I only just started doing blog carnivals and got included in all 3 that I submitted to but they're not bringing me any traffic.

| Senior Member | I think you have things going in the right direction. Your posting multiple times per day giving people a reason to come back again and again. You've got a great layout and it's not all clutter with ads. If fact, it's ad free. I'd commend you because 100 visitors per day for thirty days it a big feat for a blog that is new. Seems like your doing something right. It's just going to increase in popularity at this rate.

Reputation: | Thanks guys. Hermione: I think most of it is from Get Rich Slowly - they linked to one of my articles and my traffic spiked up to roughly 500 per day for a couple of days - these days it's a good day if I get over 50 uniques per day, though things do seem to be creeping up again slowly. Posting lots of comments on other blogs (and forums) also helps quite a bit. Any other advice? I just changed the font to make things a little more readable.

Reputation: | Congrats on reaching so many readers it such a short time! I just recently started blogging again and found that things like StumbleUpon and Digg can drive a lot of readers to your blog. You should check them out if you haven't yet.

Reputation: | Hey lpkitten - thanks for the reply. When you say SU brings you traffic, is this totally passive or do you do things on the site to keep it coming in somehow? And do you just submit a story to Digg once in a while and hope for the best? Cheers, Jonathan

Reputation: | Jonathan, Your site does look good, I am interested to read more. We recently turned 2 months as well and have seen similair traffic although once we hit the 100 visits a day mark we seem to be growing a little slower than I would like. Stumble Upon has been a large part of our growth and we give it daily attention and put our articles out there for Digg as much as we can. Probably the best thing though is just networking with others. We do a guest post at every opportunity. Keep in touch! |

Reputation: | Hi Ben/Frank, I checked out your site and it looks good too. Sadly I'm not at 100 per day yet. After that big burst of traffic from Get Rich Slowly I'm back to around 50 per day or so Do you have a script to auto-submit your new stories to Digg? By the way, when you say you give SU your attention, what exactly do you mean? Kind Regards, Jonathan

Reputation: | Just thought I would add - Don't be afraid to submit your posts to Reddit, Digg et al! I got 1500 hits from Reddit the other day!
