What's the best way to see who links me?

I'm wondering what method people use for being able to tell who links to them? I've just put that little "who links to my website?" code on my blog, but is that really the best option? I've been looking through the 81 links that are listed and they are mostly all me linking my blog in comments, on this forum, etc. and lots of entries where I can't even see a link to me.

I still don't fully understand Blogger's backlinks. I have the feature enabled, but so far it does nothing. Maybe the other blog needs to be on blogger and have that feature enabled for it to work?

I happened to come across another PF blog that mentioned my blog in their entry and linked to me, and I had no idea. This link didn't even show up in my "who links to my website" widget information. Hmmph.

What is the best way to keep on top of who is linking to you in their writing? I'd like to be able to check on a daily basis for new referrals.

Hey Michelle, just so you know...after I replied to your thread about backlinks the other day, I went to my blog and I couldn't access mine.
I checked their help forums and it seems to be a bug (or something) in the system because lots of other bloggers have the same problem, so it's not just your blog.

Besides the "links to this blog" (when it's working) feature on blogger, I also use technorati. Click the link that says "blogs that link here" in my right sidebar.

Your welcome. I was actually thinking about you when I noticed it on my own blog. I was going to come here and post but I got distracted with my 12 year old daughter zipping by my front window on her dirt bike. LOL

Technorati is pretty good. I also use them to tag my posts. Some bloggers think technorati's popularity has decreased recently but I like them.

I've never really played with Technorati other than linking to it. I am rather haphazard in how I go about SEO though, so its not a big surprise. I will have to play around there when I get time for my blog.

Google Analytics. No doubt. It works whether trackbacks are activated or not.

I like technorati. I also use Sitemeter to track my stats, and you can look at referrals to see how people are getting to your site. Helpful to see if people without follow through enabled on their comments are hitting you.

View your report. On the left side, click "Traffic Sources." One of the sub-reports is "Referring Sites."

Wordpress also shows incoming links in the Dashboard.
