As I struggle for readership, I think your numbers sound pretty darn good. I feel like I'm floundering in the sea of "how to promote myself."

Any and all suggestions welcome!

I am too new to blogging to really care. Right now, I just enjoy the writing, and learning a little HTML.

I'm so much enjoying with my blog. I'm doing my best to make it grow like a child changing for the best.

Wow, those are some great numbers. I agree with many others, my blog could be doing better. I agree with brokegradstudent, creating great content comes first.

It's all about networking. I participate in carnivals, host carnivals, comment on other blogs, etc. If your content is good, other blogs will start linking to you. The more blogs that link to you, the better chance you'll have of getting discovered.

During my 8th month of blogging, one of my posts was mentioned in the MSN Smart Spending blog. The MSN editor's promoted it as an Editor's Pick, so it appeared on the MSN Money page for a day. I got over 10,000 visitors that day.

That, in turn, gets your blog even more exposure, and even more people will start discovering your blog. If your content is good, then the new visitors will stick around, and some will even share your site on their blogs or with their friends. As more people link to your blog, your ranking in search results will go up, bringing even more traffic to your site.

Each time you make new connections, you're opening the door for new opportunities. Advertisers, marketing companies, etc. will start finding your blog and contacting you. Sometimes they'll ask for recommendations from more established bloggers, and that's why networking is so important.

Of course, none of what I just described is possible unless you have good content, because that is what will attract new visitors and keep old visitors coming back to your site. The rest is just a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck.

I'm not yet a month old and it seems that my traffic is trending the right way but it is very very low... I'm sure it will come around over time

@DoYouDaveRamsey: You're going to be just fine. Unless you have an ace up your sleeve, you're not going to see a ton happen early on in the life of your blog. Take time to write good posts. Those posts will, in turn, be the foundation of your search engine traffic in the next few months.

Keep it up!

like mentioned above, if you want to be successful, write a lot of content, try to write 4-5 times a week at least and keep in mind the types of keywords people are searching for when you write your article titles, and titles within the post.

participate in lots of blog carnivals

network with other bloggers

use social media (twitter, stumble, digg, reddit, facebook, etc)

write more content

guest post

write more content.

By writing 4-5 posts a week for just over a year I've taken my site from 50-100 visitors a day to now where it's more in the range of 1000-2000 visitors a day. Once you get enough content indexed by google, and your articles start coming up in the search engines, you'll do just fine!
