Reputation: | My biggest impediment has been the inability to code or understand the underpinnings of the Internet and how to be a webmaster. I went through about a dozen coders who were mostly pretty bad - which cost me time, money and aggravation. My current coder is very talented and a good person who helps me with all sorts of stuff without nickel and dimeing, so I feel lucky to have him around. He also hosts my sites now, and I consider him a friend. The helplessness really gets to me, so I am learning html/xhmtl, and will advance to CSS and PHP when I have a full grasp of the markups. My coder friend also does a little bit of tutoring as well. |

Reputation: | It feels like my biggest impediment is exposure. I think, though I know that it is rather conceited, that my writing is decent, and that I'm hitting my target audience well. If I can just get the traffic up!

| Senior Member | I think time is a huge issue. I don't have enough hours in the day to get everything done that I'd like to. There seems to be a huge task ahead in getting my site profiled. Guess I'll just have to stick with it :0) |

| Junior Member | The biggest constraint most bloggers operate under is that they don't really understand their audience: what they really want or how their target audience tries to find info online. The blogger often thinks he/she is doing fine, except traffic doesn't grow (and then they wonder what's wrong) Once this is understood, the next problem is to create content that attracts and keeps readers. This is where copywriting comes in. If you learn and employ SEO and copywriting, you can improve your blog dramatically in a short time.

| Senior Member | Um, yeah, I'd quote the previous poster but then I think they'd be getting what they want. I think time is a big issue. Plus I am trying to redo the header for my blog template but I no longer have Adobe CS2 loaded onto the desktop and the laptop is pretty much dead (and the husband's beside) so I've kind of lost steam with family illness, trying to find a real job outside the house (after finding myself under working in the online venture) and moving and getting really depressed. Without a dog image on the front page it just seems unprofessional but I don't want to pay someone to do what I know I can...

Reputation: | Depending on the blog platform you are using some allow you to preload content. I write in spurts and then schedule those posts. Right now the biggest thing I need to get after is further customizing blogger and getting a real domain. I do really like blogger but the standard set up feels less than fully professional. |

Reputation: | My main problem has been spending too many hours to make a post spotless. I spend too much time on that one post, which limits my ability to focus on other things like marketing/socializing, and writing more than one post per week. I'm switching up my strategies right now, and moving away from the super-long post style. I plan to write more posts per week, and I think that will also help me get my ideas delivered better - which will bring more ideas to the surface.

Reputation: | The first rule of SEO is that content is king but an equal amount of time has to be spent getting people to your site to see your top-notch content.
