Default Google adsense

I've had adsense on my blogs for about 5 or 6 months and have only made a few dollars. Probably due to the limited traffic I get (one blog is about being a single mom with 4 adopted kids, the other is my toy rat terrier blog). I don't always find the ads as good a fit as I'd like but they are OK.

I've earned a little more than $200 in a couple years of blogging. It's not a lot but it is better than nothing!

I get a paycheck every 2 months but March hasn't been giving me a lot monthly revenue from Adsense. It's probably because of the lowered postings I've done in the last months.

I just started a blog this week and I also signed up with AdSense. I've heard it's a really great program. I think it's definately worth a shot to try it out based on all the feedback received from other wisebread readers. Good luck to you!

In the past year I've made $0.10. That's it.

Way back when I first got started I had about a dozen clicks in the span of an hour when I would usually get just 1 or 2 a day, so I emailed them with a heads up that I saw this type of activity. They promptly responded and thanked me for the information.

As far as earnings go, I'd say that it is right up there along with or sometimes my top means of income from my site. There is no way I'd take it off my site.

But if you're just getting started, I'm not even sure I'd bother with adsense. Without search engine traffic to your site, adsense will be almost worthless. It may take six months or more to get your first check from them. It won't hurt you to put it up if you're just starting a site, but don't expect anything for quite a while. I don't use any wordpress plugins (although there are some out there) and I just code the ad units into my template where I need them.
This says it all!

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I went ahead and signed up for Adsense a little while after starting my blog (mid Feb 2008) and I'm a little past halfway to my first paycheck.

We don't get a ton of traffic but it is steadily increasing, so it's looking promising. Thanks again for all the input.

Guess I spoke too soon. This morning I got an email saying that my account was disabled because of suspicious activity. No explanation...just "suspicious activity." I filed a dispute but we'll see if anything comes out of it. ::sigh::
