Your favorite blog designs

What are some of your favorite blog designs? What are the most important things you look for in a blog design?

Here are a couple of my favorites:

First Ourselves - OK, I might be a bit biased since this site is run by one of our forum members. But I'm in love with the subtle watermark design of the header and the overall clean feel of the blog.

Pearsonified - The blog of the famous designer Chris Pearson. The bold (yet sparing) use of colors and the overall excellent use of white space makes this one of the most readable blogs on the web.

Lewro's - What can I say, I'm a sucker for lady bugs and butterflies.

Wow I really like Lewro's. That's really pretty. I just started my first blog and was so pleased with myself for altering the Kubrick theme. Now I'm a bit deflated after seeing that one ... but I am also inspired to try something better now, so thanks for sharing that Will.

I love that butterflies and honey bee wall clock.

(Gee, I guess I do have a weird fixation on butterflies.)

Thanks, Will! My sister did the artwork. There are worse things than butterflies to have a fixation on so I wouldn't worry too much.

My focus is on color thats not too overwhelming and a dynamic design. It can be hard to find, especially when I know I could design what I want but don't have the time right now, let alone the patience. I can't think of any I read I'm thrilled to pieces with, but I do adore the one for my new blog.

Lewro's was really impressive - it has a clean, innocent feel, and seems really creative. I also liked the clean design of Personified. Most of the comments at Personified were for Wordpress-based blogs. Does anyone know of a good site for Blogger designs or a blog on tips for using Blogger's services?

Most of the websites I visit frequently are actually about how to design websites...I really like http://www.zeldman.com/
The content may not be interesting to you but I really like the muted colors and rollover links

http://snook.ca/jonathan/ is another visually interesting one
