Thumbs up Getting $250 VISA GC Reward for $10 Coughdrop Purchase at Walgreens

Did anyone participate in the Walgreens/Wyeth Spa Rewards program featured last year on Wisebread? http://www.wisebread.com/save-100-on...-cold-medicine

It seems that I will make out with a sweet deal for myself only because Wyeth wants to make good on a customer rewards program gone bad.

I participate in Walgreens EasySaver program, so in November, I purchased $10 worth of Robitussin Cough drops (BOGO @ $1.99). A $25 Spa Rewards certificate was issued for each Wyeth item purchased. Walgreens counted even the free items towards my rewards so I was issued $250 worth in $25 increments.

The marketing incentive company that Wyeth contracted with for this program, R&M Marketing, was unable to effectively manage the overwhelming requests by customers to get their certificates redeemed.

This customer incentive promotion turned out into a marketing fiasco for Walgreens and Wyeth because the fulfillment company was understaffed and their customer service reps had no authority from management to make things happen for people.
Deal seeking divas have flooded coupon forums with their tales of frustration at not getting to redeem their certificates.

I was unable to get any results in getting my certificates redeemed for spa treatments. It seems that Wyeth took things into their own hands. Today I get a form letter from Wyeth stating they are aware of how slow the process has been for customers and that if I do not want to participate in getting spa treatments, that they will make good on the certificates by offering a Visa Gift Card equal to the value of unredeemed certificates. All I need to do is to fill out a form and send it along with my certificates.

I almost feel guilty about doing this! I appreciate Wyeth's attempt at crisis management and trying to make good. They will definately be getting a thank you letter from me!

Holy crap thats an insane deal. I would feel a little guilty as well, but when people insist on you taking their money you just have to be polite and say thank you.
