Reputation: | If your car has at least 100k miles on it or has failed an emissions test and your income falls below the bracket line for the specified household size(see chart below) then the government will pay 3k for a new car/truck or 3.5k for a hybrid vehicle. You must meet these 2008 net income requirements: (These income amounts change annually in February.) Size of Household Maximum Net Income Per Year 1 $31,200 2 $42,000 3 $52,800 4 $63,600 5 $74,400 6 $85,200 7 $96,000 8 $106,800 Over 8 Add $10,800 for each additional member I don't know about you but 3k off a new car sounds pretty good. Im getting ready to replace my 95 honda civic with a new one and 3k is a real big chunk of the cost considering a new honda civic is just a little over 10k. I'm not sure if other states have offers like this but if they do please post them. Here is the website: www.driveacleanmachine.org |

Reputation: | I have a 99' Honda Civic and plan to drive it until the wheels fall off. I love my car. Hopefully Florida will have something like this when I'm ready for a new one. |
