Default Rite Aid paid me $30

Hi all,

Short version: Rite Aid - transfer a Rx/ get a $30 gift card.

Why I'm excited:
Near my house there was an Eckerds drug store. They were bought by Rite Aid. It didn't mean much to me as I rarely went there (used my local grocery's pharmacy for convenience). Then I decided to check into their prices vs. WalMarts to prevent some driving. While I was looking at Rite Aid's website and store information I noticed a coupon for $30 gift card. Transfer a prescription and get $30 + 2 $5 gift cards via mail after 2 more refills.

That might not sound like such a great deal to some but seeing as how they also promote "price matching" it really worked out well for me. I get my maintenance meds at the grocery store for $4.

I really thought when I went into Rite Aid last night they'd make me pick one or the other "offer". But last night when I went in with the coupon they honored both.

So I paid $4 I would have paid to someone anyway and got a $30 gift card and most likely will get $10 more in gift cards.

Even if you had a $20 Rx co-pay through insurance it'd still be a deal

CVS also does the same thing $25 transfer card. Not sure if they price match, but my gut says they need to if they want to be competitive. FYI-Rite Aid bought out Brooks and Eckerd, so lots of stores are now under their management. You can also go to Rite Aid Pharmacy - With Us, It's Personal and sign up for "My Rite Aid" and get $50 in printable coupons as well as online access to your prescriptions, rebates, etc. You only get one chance to print the coupons and you can't view them, but when I contacted customer support with my address they said they would send them out for me by mail.
