Reputation: | Do read the comments at Lifehacker and GOTD though. Memory optimizers are the software equivalent of snake oil. They take memory from the system cache that Windows would've freed up anyway if a program needed it. |

| Member | Yeah, but back in the day Windows would sometimes have problems freeing up that memory, and something like that was somewhat useful. Generally systems have enough horsepower now that it's not that serious a problem.
