As much sense as this might make to you, it is not true, regardless of what your grandfather says. Credit bureaus want to see that you can handle credit responsibly. Consumers who declare bankruptcy often wipe their hands clean of debt, saying they will never again have another credit card. But what they might not realize is that no credit is just as bad as poor credit. The best way to have a solid credit score is to have a healthy mix of credit and a solid payment history. You have to prove to the bureaus you have the discipline to handle credit. The only way to do this is to have a proven track record.

Hey everyone

I've been wanting an iPhone for quite some time now and I was wondering if anyone maybe had some advice?

They're really good but the price tag is outrageous. I've gotten some good tips about how to get a cheap one from here (http://artofstinginess.com/?p=38) but I'm not sure if it's for me.

Anyone?

WOW! Where did the time go?

Birthday boy has some comments about arriving at the big 75 (http://social-fix.blogspot.com/2009/11/viewing-life-and-society-at-75.html) and being happy about the trip here, potholes and all.

Life can be really good at any age so don't just sit around watching TV fellow Wisebreaders. Get up and about, but relax and don't rush. Be positive and friendly. Read and learn to improve your well being. Develop and follow healthy eating habits. Sleep well! :D

Your Development Goals | What are The Major Development Obstacles to Your Goals?

As a life coach, part of my job is to hold my clients accountable to the goals they have set. Recently I have a client that has been having a hard time with his personal development and all the goals he had made for himself. He spent an entire quarter of the year living in fear and avoiding the financial disasters he has created for himself.

The more he avoided, the more worse everything else in his life seemed to get. When you are avoiding what you don’t want, you bring it upon you.

The truth is, “You make yourself ineffective and inoperable when you are in a retracted/avoidance state and your dreams will allude you”.

What situations you have in the present that has been holding you back from your goals?

eBook storage

I have a pile of free ebooks from various sources that I want to save long term. Most are old books that have been put online old cookbooks, old home ec books and old history books. I have seen some of these kind of resources exist one year and be gone the next so just bookmarking them isn't enough. Many come from universities that have the books online as part of department projects. I have seen too many of those go away as staff changes or funding dries up.

Places I have been getting them, uni websites, Gutenberg, Google Books, various other small sites.

I have concerns storing them on my laptop or PC since I have had catastrophic hard drive crashes before. Even our network attached storage drives were almost lost once due to a power surge that damaged equipment.

I had thought about cataloging them on CDrom and keeping a media cabinet of them. Another thought was to get a USB hard drive to store them on that could be unplugged when not in use. The CDs seemed a bit more portable than the portable hard drive. Is there an option I am missing completely?

How to Make Happiness Automatic

If you seek happiness, then you must start with three basic steps to make it automatic. Happiness is your natural state but you must remove what is blocking it.

As a Life Coach and working with thousands of "big players" in their respective industries, the process they used to get there often seems inapplicable to the other aspects of life like happiness or peace.

Although I have a blog post which are explains these three basic steps here:

Would any one like to share any three tips to make happiness automatic?

Where would one start in order to have consistent happiness?

Share your thoughts!
