Reputation: | Here are some cool tips. My question to you is: how do people figure these out in the first place? 1. Peel a banana from the bottom- and you won’t have to pick the little “stringy things” off of it. Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store. If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster. ![]() 2. Store your opened chunks- of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay fresh much longer and not mold! 3. Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom- are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking..... For more, go here: 25 Tips and Tricks Lisa |

Maybe it only works in specific areas with specific kinds of mosquitos or with certain people who tend not to get bitten anyway. Same thing with the ants and cornmeal, I think it only works with certain types of ants. The measuring cup thing does work well. If a recipe calls for water and oil, I add the water first, sometimes pouring it into the measuring cup I'll use for oil (if different quantities are required), that helps to get more of the oil out of the measuring cup. The tip on making deviled eggs in the ziploc bag is similar to how I chop nuts, chocolate chips (to get "mini chips) and the like since I don't have a food processor. I put the required amount in a ziplock bag, squeeze out as much air as possible, put a towel under and over the bag (to protect the counter as well as the bag) and then hit it with a hammer (a rolling pin will work too, but my hammer is easier to get to than my rolling pin). After a handful of hits, turn the whole thing over and do it again. |

Reputation: | I never heard of the conditioner for shaving trick. I'll have to tell the s.o. about that one. How exactly do you peel a banana from the bottom up? Unless you've got a knife or something to make a cut? Personally, I think it's easier just to grab the stem end and pull. The stringy things are just extra fiber. |

Reputation: | I wonder if it is a certain type of dryer sheet? I do my nuts like the deviled eggs, too. As far as the banana upside down goes, lots have been complaining about that one. Lisa |

Reputation: | Oddly enough , I've heard that when monkeys eat bananas, they peel them upside down. Seperating them does help with ripening too fast because of the gases they give off. Conditioner to shave works great on leg and other fine hair, even bodywash works for that - I rarely use shaving gel. But I don't think it would work well for men with thick facial hair. |

Reputation: | My husband tried the conditioner to shave his face and didn't like it. I've tried whipping the cake frosting and didn't seem to get much more than usual. One thing that does work - put your bananas in a sealed ziploc type bag. They will keep much longer! |

Reputation: | I like the suggestion about how to get rid of fruit flies (cider vinegar + dish detergent). I've been keeping my bananas in a plastic bag for the last month to try to get rid of the fruit flies, but apparently they've found somewhere else to lay their eggs. |

Reputation: | It's interesting to hear what people have tried, and if it works or doesn't work. I liked the one about the garlic. I never knew that. And I liked the deviled egg idea. Lisa |
