Reputation: | I've been gradually moving away from eating meat for a variety of reasons and have changed my diet bit by bit to more vegetarian meals each week. Last night I made a huge pot of dahl that will last me a while and I can freeze some for later use. I am looking to use more tofu and TVP in my cooking too. I love the thought of being healthy and cutting the costs on my food bill (not to mention the way animals are treated before they get to our table). I found this lady's blog yesterday via a link to her old blog on blogger.com - now she has a domain name and seems to be doing really well. http://happyfoody.com/ Does anyone else have any great foodie links to share? I need some recipes for TVP and tofu particularly.

| Senior Member | someone posted the link to eat me, delicious on another thread here a while back.... It's a great place for vegetarian recipes. I actually made the pasta with tofu red pepper sauce from the site recently. I ended up adding a lot of spices to the sauce and it turned out pretty yummy. |

Reputation: | I have been for years on and off. BUT I do engage in a slab of RED Meat once in a while just for the B12. I can tell when THAT is what I need. By a SLAB I mean a sizeable piece of Beef Tenderloin which I slice up as needed, usually I eat a petit filet for a few days in a row then I go back to my regular vegan diet. |

Reputation: | I'm 90 to 95% vegetarian. A little fish every so often, and even less red meat. I avoid chicken, but splurge on a bbq pork sandwich about once a year when I am in my hometown of Memphis. I eat very little dairy as well. |

| Senior Member | I am definitely not vegetarian, but I hate preparing meat myself very often so I default into eating meatless meals a lot of times. |

Reputation: | I love cooking...so there is no way I can be a vegetarian. Too many good recipes with meat and other ingredients involved

Reputation: | Amy, I'm much like you. I very rarely prepare meat. Occasionally some chicken for a soup or stew, but beyond that, it's mostly meatless meals.
