Red face Being frugal and loving fine wine..

..as part of my move to frugality, I decided to not buy any more fine wine until I consumed my existing wine collection. It has been a very enjoyable experience, yielding many surprise benefits. Here's the top three:

1. Not a single dollar was spent in the past several months on fine wine.

2. I was able to share with friends wines they would not normally enjoy on their own

3. I have developed an opinion for what I want to buy if I ever go back into building the collection. Not all fine wines lived up to their reputations. Others were nicely punching above their weight class, know what I mean?

4. I have perhaps consumed wines that might have become corked or oxidized with time.

5. In the unlikely event anything unfortunate ever happened to me, at least I enjoyed my best bottles before said tragic event.

I won't name names of bottles here. Any wine lovers out there who want to know more, PM me!

Every wine drinker has his own opinion on wich wines are "fine". Out of curiousity, what price range do your bottles usually fall into? The best wine I've had was Silver Oak, and I think it was about a $50 bottle. I know you can spend a lot more than that if you want to.

Default My fine wine faves..

..are from Burgundy and Bordeaux. Prices here in Canada for the best of these regions can get very dear. I have much to repent for, but what a great way to go
