Makeup. I have friends who drop hundreds of dollars every week or so on makeup.

I stopped wearing makeup when I realized I'd spent nearly $100 on makeup that made it look like I wasn't wearing any (which was the intended effect). I just thought... why don't I just NOT wear makeup?

They say they NEED it, and I don't, so maybe I'm biased?

I feel the same about makeup, what's the point of spending money on it and try to look like you haven't got any on?

I stopped wearing makeup too, saved myself some money and the hassle of putting the stuff on every morning. It makes me cringe now to think of applying thick cakey (primer) stuff all over my face every day, lol.

Is it really that good? And wouldn't it cheaper in the long run to buy gourmet coffee beans and automatic coffee maker? If you want it to go, there are really nice travel mugs available.
UGH....I can explain this because I am one of those people!!!!!!

First, I swear Starbucks puts something in the coffee (like heroin) to make it addictive. First time I had Starbucks I hated it (tasted burnt) but then after a while, nothing else tasted strong enough. There is literally a Starbucks on every other corner in my city. It's ridiculous. So the temptation is everywhere. And the mocha lattes, don't get me started.

The other problem was that I was (notice the was) terrible at making coffee. After a LOT of trial and error, I finally figured it out. Now I buy the beans at starbucks, which is still pricey but definitely better than my 2 cup a day habit. Plus, my family now gives me Starbucks giftcards for the holidays, so I only use them to buy the coffee.

I didn't spend quite that much on makeup but again at the job where a totally "polished" look was required it wasn't just the money I spent on makeup it was the time it took. I had to wear the really thick concealing makeup to actually get my skin to look evened out. Because it was so thick I had to use a makeup remover, then wash my face really good, frequently steam my face to get it out of pores. Applying and removing just the foundation was taking a good chunk out of my day. If I didn't religiously remove it right my face would break out. Sure it looked great but what a pain and waste of time. Not to mention most cosmetics your supposed to throw out after 3-6 months because they get contaminated.

Make-up can get expensive. There are a few essentials that I like - concealer, eyeliner, and mascara - but that's really it. I really look to The Budget Fashionista for deals and steals

I don't understand the car thing - HUGE expenses, like car payments, insurance, and gas. As a non-driver, I car pool and take the bus. But I understand that cars can be a kind of necessary evil for some. (Doesn't mean I have to like them! :P)

You're not buying just the stones though. What about the bragging rights? The groom says, "Yeah, I'm nailing her."

The bride, "That's not a diamond. THIS is a diamond."

I used to spend a TON on makeup (Bobbi Brown is my favorite). Then I saw a dermatologist who treated me for my acne, and I realized I no longer needed the make-up to cover up. Now I don't wear any makeup (unless I'm going out, and even then a bare minimum) AND my skin looks better!

I've been asking for an 80 dollar mp3 player and a guitar since I was 16 and I don't even get that! *sigh*
