Reputation: | I have seen people raving about these TV antennas. http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.../03/14/2021223 We looked at a long range DTV antenna from the hardware store. It was going to cost over $100 before we bought boosters and such. From the documentation and reports from people who have made the DIY antennas, the DIY ones get better reception. One person said they were getting 90 mile range in bad conditions with a double model of the antenna. The bonus is much of the materials needed are easy to come by or could be repurposed items. I wanted to let people know this option exists. As soon as the weather gets better we are going to start working on one. I will post some additional info an our results when we do. |

Reputation: | I'm sure the linked antenna probably works better, but you can also use a regular amplified VHF/UHF antenna to receive DTV. If you happen to have one around, it might be a free solution. |
