Reputation: | I went into the local store last week and the store manager was commenting that they were really busy lately. She said people were trying to find ways to DIY the things they used to pay the salon for. I did ask her if they carried the brand of hair color my salon uses. She said they didn't but they carry various products that are equivalent to certain other brands. I did notice on their website their store brand of mineral make up was getting rave reviews and is about half the price of ID brand bare minerals. Since the last time I went in for cut and color the price doubled (ack) and had gone up a bit the time before I am thinking of going back to doing my own color. Has anyone had experience with any of their product lines good or bad? |

| Senior Member | I've only gone to Sally occasionally in the past, usually as a place of last resort and they seem to have what I'm looking for most of the time. I visited the Sally website recently and found a designer impostor version of some hair creme that I'm planning on picking up soon--it was almost half the price of the real stuff so it's definitely worth trying out. I also noticed online that they have a frequent shopper program--membership is $5 per year and you get an extra discount off non-sale items plus some other deals too. I don't know if I really would need it because I don't shop there much, but it would definitely be pretty easy to make up the cost if you do a lot of shopping there. |

Reputation: | I am curious if some of the knock offs work as well. The shampoos we use jumped in price again too. One by about $4 a bottle. |

| Senior Member | I've used various products from Sally's over the years from shampoo/conditioner/styler to nail polish and brushes. I've never bought anything I didn't like, and the one hair clip I bought and broke the first time I used it they replaced with no argument at all even though I have enough hair to break most clips (paid $10 for this one though). A friend of my mom's who used to have a hair salon used their coloring items, scissors and other hair tools (dryers, strighteners, etc) and didn't seem to lack for clients. They have coupons in the store from time to time as well.
