Default Entering Online Competitions

Hi there, I thought I'd be brave and start a thread :0)

I've recently started entering competitions (about a month or so ago) and I've entered about 1000 online. I know that probably seems like a lot but it doesn't take much time and the rewards are great! I've done so well I'd highly recommend it as it's a great way to get great gifts for other people when they are needed (if you can resist using them yourself, lol).

So far I've won:

Xbox 360 Skate Game
2 tickets to the Bleeders gig (NZ band)
2 x Beowulf Imax tickets
Lonely Planet Guide to Ireland
No It's Not Ok book about bullying in schools
Clarins suncare pack worth $120 - yummy!
$20 grocery voucher
6" sub (subway voucher) which ended up being another one because it was subways birthday and they were running a promotion.
Jamie At Home cookery book
Enchanted Movie prize pack (was a great present for a little girl I know)
Anika Moa CD

I visit a local forum for competitions in NZ and have google alerts set up for new competitions as they are listed on various web sites. I keep an excell spreadsheet with details of competitions entered and when they are drawn and how to check them etc.

It's so addictive :0) What with that and sending off for free samples of products that I will use it makes waiting for the snail mail and checking my emails really exciting and it's a great way to save money so I thought I'd pass it on.

:0)

Oh forgot to mention - a stuffed camel soft toy all the way from Israel for my little boy, he loves it because it's so unique :0)

I've had great luck entering contests as well.
It's fun and the free goodies are definitely nice surprises in the mail.

Hmm, you seem to have better luck than I do... but it's funny I see this right when I sign up, because that's how I spent my day today :P

Do you do more 1-entry sweeps or IWGs and stuff?

That's quite a haul Amanda! I'm impressed.

I generally do 1 entry sweeps as I think there is more chance of winning that way, although I have tried a few where you can enter as many times as you want, no success with those though.

What are IWG's? :0)

Greg - thanks for the link, it's always good to see how other people approach this.

It seems really time consuming. I used to plan on doing that. I think I signed up for 20 and I didn't win anything. Its just something I feel like isn't worth the time to do.

wow, that's a lot of prizes, but a lot also of competitions. I would like to try but I think I already spend too much time on internet, do you have an estimation of the time you need daily/weekly for that?

It seems also it could become an addiction, so I will have to take care... it's like reading blogs, everyday I find a new useful one and want to follow them all!

Hi quitejaded. The more you enter the better chance you have of winning. 20 isn't a lot of competitions to enter, it's a numbers game, eventually it will have a pay day :0)

Hi cmartinrg. it takes under 30 minutes a day to keep on top of it. It seems like a lot of work to begin with but once you start winning you see the value of the exercise. It's great for when you have a little while free. I suppose you could do it all in one go, would take me approximately 2 hours or so a week I suppose.

I've also won many contests and sweeps. I started back in 2005 and love it. It can be very time consuming though.
