Getting enough sleep does wonders. My hubby had these permanent dark circles under his eyes because he sleeps at 3am everyday. It's so bad.

Tea tree oil is a great addition to your beauty and health arsenal. It dries up blemishes quickly and is a natural antiseptic, so it's also great on cuts and injuries. You do have to shop around to find it the cheapest. I've got a sizable bottle that I bought at Whole Foods for just under $10. It takes the barest dab each application, so it lasts forever

honey is wonderful for washing your face. its naturally antimicrobial, so you may see a little redness righ after washing. but its so soft and taste great. (the fact that i can always taste it makes me wonder how much face wash i hav eeaten in mylife...yuck!)

i also like the oil of olay sensitive skin face wash and moisturizer. earlier in the month they were BOGO at walgreens and with manu coupons, i got 4 bottles of face wash and 2 small lotions for less than $3 oop.

i also love aveeno lotions because they are fragrance free. i use the baby lotion and the one with oatmeal and the blue lids. i also like the daily moisturizer with teh green lids. (sorry i don't know exact names). i use the baby lotion on my face and its great...very light. again, with some walgreens sale sand coupons, less than $4 for a big tube (we stocked up )

Default Quality Moisturizer You Create

Make your own best moisturizer ever by mixing petroleum jelly with vitamin E and using a thin coating on your face, hands, arms, and legs every night at bedtime. I use an old cold cream-type container, fill with jelly, and empty 2-3 capsules of Vitamin E into it and mix with a finger. Yes, it's a little messy to set up, but once you do, it's great and very frugal. You will be pleased with the results.

So, I thought I'd ask around here and see what people buy, beauty product wise that they like the quality of and/or feel is a really good deal.

Personally, I am looking for a really great quality moisturizer that doesn't break the bank. (I have a friend that's like you shoudl get this stuff called La Mer - or something like that - and it's the most expensive thing I've EVER seen, craziness!) I've been lax about moisturizing and I can totally tell lately (I think the crazy weather lately isn't helping my skin, either, but still.) What do you all use? Is there an easy DIY option, maybe?

What other products are out there that are good quality frugal buys?

Good quality frugal buys can be done with products at palces like CVS by taking advantage of their Extracare program to earn extra care bucks on other purchases you'd normally make (or giftcards on prescriptions). You buy things such as pain reliever or toothpaste (with a coupon) and get back a portion or all of the money you spent in extra care bucks which can be used like cash on whatever you like.

For instance last week I bought M&Ms (3.29 for two bags) and got back $3 for each set of two. Since I had extracare bucks from the week before I spent a little over a dollar for four bags and got back $6 in extracare bucks. I then used that (plus coupons) to buy 6 bottles of shampoo/conditioner, a body wash, and makeup for $3 and change and got back $10 in extracare bucks....they normally have nice brands included such as Aveeno, Nivea, Jergens, etc.

I finally got around to making this lotion yesterday
http://seattle.consciouschoice.com/2...oking0702.html

I used more coconut oil in it per the recipe. I get horribly chapped hands in the spring. It usually takes weeks to get the cracked skin to heal. Some spots are completely healed and others are just about there after using it about three times. It also doesn't burn if you get it on cracked skin. I'm really impressed. Other than the initial cost of coconut oil and beeswax it is really cheap. The beeswax has a shelf life of forever and coconut oil will last pretty long if stored right. So for about $17 I have enough materials for probably 20 jars of lotion. The stuff I had been using was $25 a tube because it was a luxury brand (Portico).

Buy Avon! They have great beauty products, everything from makeup to foot creams to moisturizers and if you shop carefully you pretty much never pay full price - nearly everything goes on sale every few brochures or so. Great products at a great value!

I have a new one. I recently won a Nivea competition and was sent some facial tissue cleansers in a small pack. They are $10 a pack. I found them really convenient but would not pay the price. Now I use unscented baby wipes (Huggies) and they are $4 for 80, they are really big and contain only water, aloe and vit E. My skin feels so soft now after only a week of use :0)

I'm not sure if this really works or not but I have found references to it a number of places. Vick's vaporub can remove skin tags. Supposedly you can apply it to skin tags and it will make them die or dry up and fall off.

I've also heard about VapoRub for blemishes in general... I guess you'd apply it before bed.
