I've just been recovering from a cold this last week. And feeling like crap this whole week has motivated me to get back into working out. So I'm going to start off easy, by waking up 30 min earlier each day, and doing some exercises.

Do this for 2 weeks or so, and then start going to the local community centre (good gym and swimming pool) 3-5 times a week.

Maybe even earlier, but 6:00 ain't a # i like seeing on my clock in the morning haha.

I am in Maine for the time being. I got a 4 month membership to a local gym so I don't flip out from cabin fever. In good weather, I like to hike and garden and do other outside chores that keep me in pretty good shape. I like yoga but the coast is prohibitive at $12/a session. I just found a site where they have video and audio yoga. The video is studio quality and there are tons of both. A variety of instructors and levels all for $69 bucks for a year . I signed up and am really enjoying the ability to do yoga and have really good instruction and variety for $5.75 a month. If someone is interested in the site p.m. me. I am not sure I am allowed to post it.

Believe it or not, that actually sounds cheap to me. I'm used to seeing $15+ a session around here. I agree that there are probably cheaper options out there for most people. But having taught tai chi classes in the past, my experience has been that some people really do need to pay for a live instructor. Some people will naturally just "get" how to do things physically, and some people will injure themselves without a competent live instructor. Anyhow, I guess my point is that paying for qualified instruction can be a good use of money.

I work out at home currently (I have an elliptical machine that I use daily and a Nautilus weight training machine that I use rarely). I enjoy the flexibility of having an elliptical at home (no waiting, exercise late at night, etc.), but I prefer separate circuit training machines to an all-in-one machine for weight training.

We're going to join the local YMCA in the next few weeks for the discount on children's swim lessons. I'm really looking forward to that since it means I'll have access to classes, a heated pool for lap swimming, and childcare during workouts.

i have to work out at the gym , only because , they have lots more equipment to use , keeps the workouts from getting boring, and keeps you growing , plus there are lots of people there to get motivation from, like the guy who is smaller then you is benching more, hence i push more weight to get bigger then him lol , also working out at home leads to too many distractions , and you ll want to go sit and watch tv instead of working out..... i always recommend if you can go to a gym go.

I voted "at home" in the poll since I don't have a gym membership, but I do most of my working out outdoors when weather permits (and workout DVDs when it doesn't). My favourite form of exercise is a nice long brisk walk outside which costs nothing aside from having a decent pair of walking shoes.
