Default How Cheap Are You?? Find out Now!

I posted this is the finance section, but its probably more appropriate over here.

That's the question over on LiveCheap.com. There's a quiz that you can take that will tell you numerically from 1 to 100. The current high score is 90 and somebody that must be way too rich (or poor) scored a 34! I am a pretty cheap guy and I scored 83.

Post your score here if you dare. My guess is that the Wisebread posters will range from the 60s to 80s. So far the scores are in the 60 to high 80s, but nobody has touched the 90 score yet!

Nice one SoCal, but I have you beat. I am in the Super Cheap category. I scored 87. It is my nature not to spend. I ran out of gas looking for a gas station.....

87 is impressive. That is damn cheap. Good thing too. My wife is like that with the gas and it kills me because she never wants to call AAA if she runs out, she just calls me. She's not even that cheap (67) but she just expects me to fill the gas on both cars! I mean why do we pay $60 a year for AAA and then I get the call. Part of being a husband.

I know a couple where the husband got the 90 and the wife got the 87. That's one cheap household. I think they could run a course to teach all of these non-cheaps a thing or to. Sounds like we could be instructors too!

They do make hybrids now, but they did not in 1973. I am driving a 1973 VW bug…Hardly a guzzler. J

Default 1973 Bug, I thought my buy and hold tendencies were good

That car is about as old as I am. The thing I don't get about the gas mileage on these cars today, is that they aren't that impressive. I could swear I remember cars in the 70s and early 80s sporting 45 miles per gallon. 30 years go by and the best that we can do is about 50. I mean, I think that some of the cars back then had nothing more than a good lawnmower engine but they still got from point A to point B just fine.

I think the car manufacturers ought to realize that they have to do something pretty impressive to get the masses to upgrade. My cars do 28 MPG highway and they are sedans with a lot of room. What compelling reason do I have to get something that might do 32-34 miles per gallon and be impossible for my family to fit in? Give me 50 plus MPG for a sedan and I would be the first in line.

New high score. 91, which one of you was it? That's pretty cheap. Someone also scored a 31, I think that's even harder to do, you'd have to never even try to save a dime.

Default New High Score

91, pretty darn cheap. A couple hundred people taking it and its very difficult to get a 91. Someone got in the low thirties which is pretty darn difficult too. If you haven't taken it yet, the Wisebread feedback that we are getting has been very good. Its totally free too and accurate.
