| Senior Member | I have gotten into adding edamame (and once some frozen spinach) to couscous. I cut the couscous cooking directions in half on the package and it still makes a ton. Add in edamame and spinach and I have at least 3 days worth of meals that are actually quite filling. |

| Senior Member | lol, I totally understood what bulking out meant, but I've been doing alot of work for NZ based sites lately.... I love to make stews, chillies, and stir fry and cut the meat to 3/4 r even 1/2 of whats called for. I started this with chili and got away with it pretty well so started to do it elsewhere. I also always slice and serve meat over rice/noodles to make it seem like more when its less. We also add veggies to everything. The chili gets onions, peppers, double beans and double tomatoes.

Reputation: | Canned tuna, clove of crushed garlic, frozen brocolli, green beans or peas, A1 Steak Sauce. Sounds really funky, tastes very good (provided you like the taste of A1). I eat this at least once every two weeks or so. Soy sauce instead of A1 and adding some grated fresh ginger tastes pretty good as well. |

Reputation: | I always stock up on the store brand of frozen mixed vegetables when they go on sale. They can be added to everything from cream of wheat to ramen (or rice) noodles to spaghetti. I also find that I tend to add fresh onion, frozen peas, and/or frozen brocolli to most mixes or canned sauces. (They just taste better that way.) |

Reputation: | Hey there's some great info in this thread, thanks everyone! I'm going to try to use less meat and eat more veggies, and beans etc. I discovered TVP recently and I'm really liking it, it's a whole lot cheaper than meat for sure. (I'm glad that some people understood me, lol, I'm English by birth and have lived in NZ or 10 years so I can see why ppl might find it confusing ;0)
