How do you get cheap and quality child care? - Page 3

The only reason we survived financially was due to the fact that we took the kids to grandma's everyday. i can't imagine paying the high costs of daycare.

Trustworthy SAHM friends. I'm pregnant, and two of my friends have offered to help out with childcare if/when I need to go back to work. One is a former child-care worker who is in the process of adopting; the other is a woman who homeschools her three teenage sons (and they seem to have turned out OK).

A neighbor has offered herself as 'emergency babysitter' as well, which I appreciate, but I am wary of anyone I don't really know. I was physically abused at a sitter when I was very young, and though I don't remember it, my mother's reaction to that situation (over 20 years later) reminds me to be VERY careful when it comes to my own child.
