Reputation: | Sell books/stuff parttime on the weekends at a fleamarket. My Mom does this in her retirement. It also gives her social time plus she gets paid and is her own boss. I built a blog with the hope that one day it can be a parttime job (takes a long time to get there). Buy things at garage sales, fix them up and resell on craigslist or kijiji. I know someone who sells cupcakes for parties, showers and even wedding cupcakes. |

We also felt good about who the stuff was going to. A lot of the people who came to our sale were people in difficult financial circumstances. We knew that they really appeciated getting a good deal on our stuff. It did take a lot of time (I spent several weeks going through everything in our house). But it was really worth it. | |

Reputation: | We sold our piles of old and left over computer stuff. We also found pallets of left over returned or phased out computer stuff at a warehouse that the company didn't want back. We sold some on ebay and some at local flea markets. People were able to get good deals and we turned a decent profit at it. We quit as computer technology shifted since the supply of in demand items waned. I am looking seriously at doing the book reselling thing. I have a good idea of what is wanted in some niche areas and I hit the thrift stores and garage sales anyways. My blog also makes quite a bit of money. Even for the small audience and it just starting out my google adsense has been generating money every month for something I do because I enjoy it and get to network with people with the same interests. |

Reputation: | "One man's trash is another man's treasure?" eBay is a great place to get rid of stuff you don't need for a little under market value. I have gotten rid of several things over the years, and though I didn't get what it may have been worth, I was happy to get rid of it.

Reputation: | I've definitely go to look into both of those. I'm not terribly passionate about blogging, but I'm definitely passionate about making extra money. I should spend a day this week indexing all of my stuff. I've got some papers that need filing as well. |
