Default Low-income Assistance for Telephone Service

I spotted this on a flyer my land line phone company sticks into my bill each month. You may be eligible for assistance with monthly recurring and connection charges on your residential phone line if you or a household member participate in Medicaid, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), FPHA/Section 8 housing, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program. Call 1-888-757-6500 to find out if you qualify and get information on how to receive this financial help. This is provided under the Lifeline and Link-Up Service.
