| Okay, that website just looks like way too much fun!! I'll have plenty of time to kill while I'm job-hunting, so I'll definitely be trying some of those recipes out! |

| If I would ever let anyone pry the products away from me! Although I suppose if the price was right... Actually, Greg, were you going to write about that? If you're not, I think I'll swipe this and do something about whether you can save money or if the effort and cost of ingredients is equivalent or higher... But I don't want to thunderjack you if there was a face mask you really want to discuss |

| Junior Member | Bath Salts: Equal parts Epsom salts and regular salt, a few drops of essential oil in a scent you like, and, if you wish, a few drops of food coloring. Mix with a fork for a minute or so. To use, dissolve few tablespoons into your bath. Salt (or sugar) scrub: Slowly add vegetable oil to salt or sugar, stirring until you have oily sludge. To use, massage on to hands, feet or elbows for 60 seconds, then rinse with water, wash with mild soap and notice how soft your hands (feet or elbows) feel. I used to sell the bath salts to coworkers; I work in a very small office now, so don't have the option.

Reputation: | Making your own cosmetics is usually good for your health. You wouldn't believe the stuff that's allowed in cosmetics (which aren't regulated by the government like some products). See here. Cosmetics can make you really sick over time. I just wish there were easier ways to make a variety of products, because the natural cosmetics tend to cost more than the drug store brands. |

Reputation: | Well, I did a post on homemade personal care / spa / beauty products a while back, but I don't really know much about the cosmetics end of the DIY continuum. A book called the Chemical Formulary was recommended to me years ago, but I think it's out of print now, because I haven't been able to find a copy. |
