Reputation: | I second (third) the "get rid of stuff before you move" idea. And it's helpful to keep in mind that everything you can sell helps finance the move! |

Reputation: | I am also planning a cross country move for the near future. I have looked at a number of options, and the easiest, lest-stress solution seems to be the Pod-type movers. The trouble for me comes with my plants. I have a number of house plants which I love. Most of them I will be giving away or donating to hospitals or such, but there are two that I don't want to part with. I have determined that packing them carefully in milk crates with lots of bubble-wrap and taking the train cross-country will be the best option. Oh! and I came up with an idea for categorizing boxes and their contents so that I know just what is in them from a number on the box. |
