Default Organic/FT coffee in bulk?

Does anyone buy bulk coffee that is organic and/or fair trade? I buy Newman's Own in the regular grocery-store size but am thinking about buying in 5lb bags (whole bean). Any bulk coffee recommendations?

I would buy a good grinder. :-) Fresh FT coffee is the best!

I did find New Harvest Coffee - that's a start. I need to run the numbers on prices per ounce (current coffee and prospective coffee) so I know what exact maximum price to look for, including shipping.

I do have a grinder, so bulk is going to be great if I can get it in whole bean.

Couldn't you save more money by going without coffee altogether?

I've really toned down my coffee habit. In college, I usually had several cups in the morning plus a latte or two. Through grad school, I shifted to just morning coffee. I've stayed that way. I make 6 cups in my coffeemaker and that's my limit for the day, minus an occasional latte (I always make them on the weekends). I make my own, rarely buying it at a coffee shop or restaurant....so I've come a long way.

Besides, I am an elementary school counselor, and educators love their coffee!

There are a few guys in my class who can't live without their coffee. Personally I don't like the way it tastes, and I don't really need it to wake up.

I've cut back too. At work there is always coffee available for free ( we just buy supplies every quarter). Now I'm down to just one cup in the mornings....especially since all the cool weather is over for us now. It's just too hot to drink coffee at noon for me. hehe

I cut back too.

well, I cut back on coffee. I'm still a junkie for caffeine.
you can buy caffeine in bulk for cheap (don't get nodoze or viran)
you can get like 500 pills at 200 mg a pop for like $5

Same caffeine, but LOTS cheaper and no stained teeth or having to wait for it to brew or making a mess all over the counter.

Sams has their brand of organic free trade coffee in 3# bags. I keep the bag in the freezer and it does seem to keep it a bit fresher as we get to the end of the bag. We buy their espresso variety since we don't drink brewed. It isn't my favorite coffee but it isn't bad either. I would love to buy Illy at $13 a can but that's not happening until I win the lottery.
