1. Wire Clothes Hangers ==> Robin's Nest Deterrent.
I had a problem last year with robins. They kept building a nest underneath my 2nd storey porch and dropping stuff onto the patio below. This year, between the joists I positioned white wire clothes hangers to discourage nest building - no robins now.

2. Plastic Bags ==> Shoe Protectors.
For business purposes, I had a lot of junk that I needed to take to the municipal dump. After my first visit, I had crud under my work shoes and they smelled awful and was hard to wash clean. The next time, I kept 2 plastic bags in my van, and then before stepping out, I put a bag over each shoe and tied them around my ankles. After unloading my junk, I just sat back in my van and threw away the bags (I'm at a dumpsite, after all). No more stink or mess!
