Reputation: | Many Things are more expensive than even the grocery stores so watch carefully! Also I don't know how many times I have gone to Walmart and spent far more than I should have--I know that many other people do the same thing. For people who don't have alot of willpower (like me) I convince myself that I need things I see on sale when I really don't. Walmart can be a true budget buster if you are not very careful. since I quit the bi-monthly trips I have saved myself alot of money! I go in with a list and don't get anything not on it! |

Reputation: | If you haven't noticed...Wal-Mart is a machine taking over the retail world. Here is a fun-fact for you... Wal-Mart is so powerful now that the people managing their "security" operations are all ex-CIA personnel. Bentonville, AK is one of the safest places you could live...lol.

Reputation: | I don't know if it's true or not but I was told that only about a 100 most common house hold items are at a better price at Wal-Mart. Other items actually are in line with other stores if not more. Don't know if that's a fact or "mumbo jumbo". ps ... I believe that Wal-Mart is the 4th or 5th largest trading partner with China beating out actual countries.

Reputation: | I shop at Walmart, but usually only for very specific items: my $9 prescription, my husband's deodorant that we can't find elsewhere, and uniform scrubs. I try to go just where I need, too. Ever since I got a DVD that I didn't know was edited, I'm a little wary of the electronics department. |

Reputation: | another thing that I have found when purchasing items at Walmart is that if they have any moving parts they are very likely to break much much sooner than if you purchase things at say, a hardware store. I had to return 3 different coffee pots because 2 leaked and 1 did not make the water hot enough. these were 3 Different makes of coffee pots! smaller items like a soap dispenser that did not dispense, a clock that stopped working after 4 months--I have learned not to buy anything with moving parts. I still go in there for milk, and certain small items. Also--does anyone remember that Walmart used to claim that most of there things were made in the USA?? No one seems to remember that. After they started making so much money they figured they could drop that claim. |

Reputation: | Wal-Mart has a lot of loss-leaders, but they do get you with a few expensive things. That and a lot of their stuff is of poor quality. |
