I have a hard time buying generic drugs , But I know buying generic will save a lot, For some reason when it comes to health I don't think about the money I buy the best product out there.

God this is so true. I bought a vacuum on sale for $20 and was so happy to have found one so cheap. Obviously, it turned out to be the worst thing I've ever bought - I am not sure it actually vacuums *anything* and the top half frequently falls off. I, too, want the real thing now - Dyson or bust. Or maybe the Kenmore one that's supposed to be great for pet hair.

In other admissions, I cannot cannot cannot handle generic toilet paper. And unless it's REALLY tight that month, I need the tissues that have lotion in them.

My grocery store brand (Lowe's Foods) has a great store-brand TP (is store brand the same as generic? But I have found I can't live without Puffs Plus (with lotion) for tissues -- the other kinds just fall apart.

Mushrooms. We tried the store brand of canned mushrooms once and they were horrible. Some of the other off-brands are okay but the store brand just didn't cut it. So if something clearly tastes worse...not just different, but worse, we won't buy it.

Pet food. Also, I'm starting to agree on personal beauty products...I recently bought generic body lotion that is supposed to be like Aveeno, but the consistency is kind of strange. I don't think I'll be doing that again. I also don't buy generic cereal for some reason, although I think that's just a "I've never done it" thing rather than a hard and fast rule.

I buy the generic brand of most everything other than Mayonnaise and bread. The $1 per loaf seems like a great buy but it sure doesn't taste like it and I'm a Hellman's fan off old for mayonnaise :0) On saying that the generic brands here in NZ seem to be as good as the branded stuff generally, it's a tough market here and very price driven.

shampoo and conditioner - dog food - freezer bags - dishwasher detergent - phones (panasonic only-that one took years to learn). I think I am open to most anything else generic but over time you learn that some things that cost more save money in the long run.

I use brand name skin care products. I have to be very careful with my face since acne runs in the family...
I also use a Moleskine for journaling.
I suppose I also go big brand name when shopping for high-end electronics (camera, laptop, TV), which isn't often.

I tried generic soda. You know the kind you can get for a quarter at the supermarket vending machine. Yuck!

I must be a high maintenance girl cuz it's diet coke all the way!

Generic facial tissues are ok for the odd sneeze, but if I have a cold, it's Puffs with lotion. Never to generic toilet paper for similar reasons.

I buy store brand laundry soap but Snuggle fabric softener as I prefer it's scent over everything else.

Lesson learned the hard way: I had a dollar store BBQ lighter explode in my hand - now I buy Bic. I figure at the very least if I get seriously injured, my family can litigate with a big company for my medical expenses.
