Reputation: | I don't buy brand names anytime I can, unless it's something that I can't get in generic brands. If I decide to get energy drinks, like Monster, you can't purchase safeway versions. I haven't yet found a quality difference too large that isn't worth the price. |

Reputation: | Just to echo what girlfromsouth said before, I'm totally willing to splurge on nice vacuums. The cheap-o $20 ones break. And freak-out if they have to suck more than a few crumbs. The Oreck XL is great, plus the brand in general has a great repair policy where you bring in the broken one and presto-chango, they'll fix it on the spot in the store. I guess this is one of those situations where you splurge on the nice thing; it outlives a bunch of less-quality, dinky versions. |
