Oh yeah! Thrift stores are an amazing resource. After finding designer clothing at fractions of the original cost, my wife has become a thrift store addict, I have to hold her back.

Thrift stores are also the environmentally correct place to shop. You are helping to keep stuff out of landfills and helping to reduce global warming.

My advice on thrift stores is, to find ones in wealthy neighborhoods, the quality is usually better.

Goodwill's mission is to create jobs for the disabled, NOT to provide clothing for the poor. So Salvation Army usually has better prices.

LOVE me some thrift stores! I just bought something I'm going to try to resale on eBay - maybe I'll get a business going!

Some Goodwill stores have started cherrypicking better items and either selling them at a much higher price on special racks in the store or forwarding them to Goodwill's online sales venue to try to get more for them. Other Goodwill stores sell everything they get at the store and don't differentiate between one shirt vs. another shirt price wise.

The Goodwill in Hopkins, MN has some unbelievable bargins. They are near some wealthy neighborhoods, I have found designer clothes all the time in the racks.
